KRISTIN GORADIETSKY, Psy.D
I am postdoctoral associate working from a depth-oriented perspective. I am interested in Jungian therapy. I am especially interested in Carl Jung's artwork and his creation known as “The Red Book” where he depicts his unconscious. When I began as an artist, I created colorful collages with small fragments of hundreds of images in a layered fashion. I am continuing to work in an abstract fashion with similar color schemes through paining in addition to creating collages.
Unconscious Wonder
(Acrylic on Canvas,14” x 16”)
In creating this artwork, I tried to tap into my unconscious. I had no preconceived notion of what I want to create or convey. I only knew that I wanted to use bright colors and contrast. I focused on letting my creativity flow. I tend to use bright colors in my collages and paintings because bright colors tend to evoke intense emotions and energies. I also employed a darker color to contrast with the bright ones to demonstrate polarity and balance.
