DORLI BURGE, PhD
I am a retired clinical psychologist who has extensive experience working with children of various ages and their parents. In my private praxis I saw many adults recovering from childhood trauma. Because I started my clinical career as an infant development specialist, I carefully honed my observational skills in order to better understand nonverbal behavior.
Nature’s Architecture
(Photograph, 4000px x 3000px)
As a photographer, I use the same observational skills I used as clinician. I try to look beyond the obvious. By looking closely, one finds the novel and surprising. Bringing details into selective focus provides new insight. I find unexpected beauty by looking from different perspectives and without preconceptions. I have the experience of time standing still as I observe intently. This gerbera daisy was blazing with color but I tried to find the underlying architecture of the flower.
