JORDAN ROBINSON, MA (2nd year doctoral student)
Creating through drawing or painting has always been a home for my personal freedom. Just like life itself, in heart and soul, my pieces take on similar journeys. The balance of natural flowing curves and sharp angles all assist in experiencing depths similar to how we experience constant change on a conscious level. Studying the mind and leaning towards Truth is reflected in my works as each piece speaks its own language while communicating a reality much the same as the thoughts we have moment to moment. By sharing my thoughts and feelings through artistic expression, I in fact share my love for life and emotions that have no words.
Pain and Pleasure
(Two Heart Panels, 18” x 24”, Poem 36” x 36”)
This piece speaks to the contrast of so many hearts yearnings and yet the egos shadow need for satiation. The use of a spiritual poem to string the complimenting drawings highlights our differences while illuminating our sameness. As a society it is important to see one another, and when we do so with acceptance, a rich love can be shared, a bridge between body and soul.
