Forest Flower
(Photo)
I am grateful for the sanctuary of nature, including my garden. Where ever I travel, visiting the botanical garden and enjoying people's home gardens is a highlight. This photograph of a flower was taken in my recent trip to Vancouver, Canada while visiting the a forest section of their lovely botanical garden. From childhood gardens have been a peaceful haven, a source of joy. Both my mother and grandmother had gardens they tended with love. They provided me with a place to play, learn, and experience wonder. My own garden is my palette and space for my creativity. It is ever changing, a safe place to experiment, make mistakes and experience the satisfaction of creating and cultivating what matters.
Together in my
spring garden
we watch petals fall
like sweet dreams
after winter rain.
A thousand diamonds shine
and for a moment
ache with beauty.
