ISABEL SCHWEGEL, MD
I am an artist and socialworker from Germany working with underserved immigrant youth in the city of Hamburg.
The young people actually are from Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Iran and different parts of South-Eastern Europe. Since I have a second degree in Illustration I am also start doing children s books and I am working as an independent artist as well.
And last but not least I am a member-part of the living museum cooperative.
Young Flower Garden

I named this artwork “Young Flower Garden“ because in my work with young people I make sure that we are out in nature a lot.
Living in cramped conditions (no space at home, no languagae abilities of the parents, trauma because of war, insecurities in the new country), you can see children and young people come alive every time you've been with them in the park, in the forest or on the farm.
This has a very lively aspect and therefore fits well with "Return to Joy".
Likewise, forms of social therapy are also about slow inner growth and unfolding. This can happen well when contact with nature is cultivated. One gives input, slowly one sets little plants, and hopes that they can unfold and connect.
