LINDA LASATER, MFA, PhD, PsyD
Before I became a psychoanalyst, I trained to become a silversmith. I graduated from the University of Texas in El Paso and received a Fulbright to the Royal College of Art for two years. After completing that training, I returned to the States and eventually taught jewelry making and silversmithing in San Diego, and later at Barnsdall Art Center in Los Angeles. I taught, exhibited and sold my art for several years before I discovered the field of psychoanalysis and began my own analysis. That experience convinced me that entering that field at a later stage of life was even more compelling than continuing my prior years creating art. Both fields have given me rich experiences in achieving creation.
