Aberration of Consciousness:
From Chaos To Coherence
(Mixed Media on Canvas Panel,
11” High x 14” Wide)
The art and science of psychotherapy parallels life in many ways. Analogous to the uncertainty of life, psychotherapy is about change. Through art, I attempt to advocate for positive change by capturing the essence of human emotion for a moment in time, particularly under the most challenging of circumstances. The goal of consolidating art and psychotherapy is to promote a better understanding of human emotion and behavior as they relate to the need for ongoing advocacy for improved mental health services worldwide.
“Aberration of Consciousness: From Chaos to Coherence” is an abstract representation of the transition from the chaos imposed by the coronavirus pandemic towards anticipated coherence post-pandemic. Chaos is depicted via the ferocity of spiraling layers of deep red emanating from an abhorrent vortex surrounded by a conglomeration of vivid bright reds representing the ongoing global uncertainty and barbarity of the SARS-CoV2 virus (COVID-19). Coherence is depicted by fragmented and intense shades of blue, silver, and gold - forcing their way out of the ferocious storm of chaos and uncertainty towards long-awaited global quiescence.
